  1. Viola Davis looks slim in Oscar dress

Viola Davis, the Oscar nominee for Best Supporting Actress, truly is a fascinating lady. To be honest before her Oscar nomination I had never heard of her before, but after reading about her and watching her performance in “Doubt” alongside Meryl Streep I am sure that we will see a lot more of her in the future.

  2. Kate Winslet looks wonderful and thin on the red carpet

I have always admired Kate Winslet. Ever since I watched Titanic for the first time back in 1997 and cried my eyes out I have followed the story of the pretty red-haired women. I guess one reason why I like her so much is that she is not like all the other spindly actresses running around the red carpets in Hollywood. She has that nice curvy, womanly physique that I would like to have. Not too big and not too small!

  4. Renee Zellweger

When people were thinking about dieting celebrities Renee Zellweger never came to mind until the year when she was staring in the famous Bridget Jones movie for the first time in 2001. In 2004 she then also stared in the sequel of the movie. For her role as the chubby single columnist she had to gain quite a bit of weight and Hollywood was in shock at how quickly she was able to put on those pounds and shed them again.

  7. I’m a medical resident. I work long shifts, skip meals, then eat when I can as fast as I can. I used to carry chocolate bars in my pocket because they were filling and the sugar rush would wake me up. Yeah, I know, doctors don’t lead very healthy lives. But I was getting really big and feeling really heavy and sluggish. I needed to lose weight, and not by starving my already exhausted body. The easiest solution was finding low-fat convenience food. Energy bars, muesli with milk, carrot sticks. It’s easier than most people think, a lot of this is in the supermarkets already.

  8. My husband and I love good eats. We enjoyed trying out new restaurants. We putter in the kitchen together. When something great happens, we celebrate by making elaborate dinners.
He wasnt very happy about switching to what he calls my cow food
    salads, cereals.

And I didnt feel like making two separate meals, to keep him happy while sticking to my diet. Despite everything Id give up because it was simpler to just cook something he enjoyed.

  9. Steve and I had a really rocky relationship. We’d fight a lot, and sometimes he’d threaten to pack up and leave. I guess I felt I had to work harder to keep him. I'd freak out when I’d gain weight, go on a diet, ask him if he thought I was fat. Or sometimes I’d get so depressed about something he said and eat like a cow, then wake up guilty and scared that he’d hate me, and starve myself again.
