lose weight

You need help with dieting?

I hear many friends lamanting that they slim downneed help with dieting. "Come on Delilah tell us what we should eat to lose weight!" "Delilah I tried to follow your advice but it doesn't work." "Delilah help me, losing weight is so hard!"

Doctor’s orders!

I’m a medical resident. I work long shifts, skip meals, then eat when I can as fast as I can. I used to carry chocolate bars in my pocket because they were filling and the sugar rush would wake me up. Yeah, I know, doctors don’t lead very healthy lives.

But I was getting really big and feeling really heavy and sluggish. I needed to lose weight, and not by starving my already exhausted body. The easiest solution was finding low-fat convenience food. Energy bars, muesli with milk, carrot sticks. It’s easier than most people think, a lot of this is in the supermarkets already.

Ending the kitchen wars

“My husband and I love good eats. We enjoyed trying out new restaurants. We putter in the kitchen together. When something great happens, we celebrate by making elaborate dinners.
He wasn’t very happy about switching to what he calls my “cow food”—
salads, cereals.

And I didn’t feel like making two separate meals, to keep him happy while sticking to my diet. Despite everything I’d give up because it was simpler to just cook something he enjoyed.

She dumped the pounds, after she dumped him!

"Steve and I had a really rocky relationship. We'd fight a lot, and sometimes he'd threaten to pack up and leave. I guess I felt I had to work harder to keep him. I'd freak out when I'd gain weight, go on a diet, ask him if he thought I was fat. Or sometimes I'd get so depressed about something he said and eat like a cow, then wake up guilty and scared that he'd hate me, and starve myself again.
