  • I’m a medical resident. I work long shifts, skip meals, then eat when I can as fast as I can. I used to carry chocolate bars in my pocket because they were filling and the sugar rush would wake me up. Yeah, I know, doctors don’t lead very healthy lives. But I was getting really big and feeling really heavy and sluggish. I needed to lose weight, and not by starving my already exhausted body. The easiest solution was finding low-fat convenience food. Energy bars, muesli with milk, carrot sticks. It’s easier than most people think, a lot of this is in the supermarkets already.

  • �My husband and I love good eats. We enjoyed trying out new restaurants. We putter in the kitchen together. When something great happens, we celebrate by making elaborate dinners.
    He wasn�t very happy about switching to what he calls my �cow food��
    salads, cereals.

    And I didn�t feel like making two separate meals, to keep him happy while sticking to my diet. Despite everything I�d give up because it was simpler to just cook something he enjoyed.
