I have always admired Kate Winslet. Ever since I watched Titanic for the first time back in 1997 and cried my eyes out I have followed the story of the pretty red-haired women. I guess one reason why I like her so much is that she is not like all the other spindly actresses running around the red carpets in Hollywood. She has that nice curvy, womanly physique that I would like to have. Not too big and not too small!
Yesterday Kate Winslet won the Oscar for her performance in the drama “The Reader” and looked absolutely stunning on the red carpet. In my opinion she looked much better than her her size 0 colleagues such as Victoria Beckham.
However, if you have watched Kate Winslet closely over the past years you will have noticed that she has also struggled with their weight. Just recently I read an interview where she admits that she has had weight problems since she was a child and that even now that she looks better than ever she still feels fat. The way she talks about her weight I think she will always keep on struggling with her looks, which I think is a pity as she is a role model for many women out there. However, I really admire her for her honest way of addressing her weight issues.
I have heard she has used the Facial Analysis Diet, one that I have never heard about I must admit, to lose weight. In addition she did lots of sports such as walking, jogging and running on the treadmill that enabled her to lose weight so quickly to get fit for the oscar night and all the other award shows that she’s been part of recently.
Another diet secret of Kate Winslet seems to be Pilates. Various sources confirm that she does pilates regularly to stay in shape. She simply works out to the instructions of some pilates DVDs and says that she quite enjoys this.
The way she talks about dieting it becomes clear that Kate isn’t one of those actresses who pretends that she has gained her lovely figure because of her genes and she is also not one who says that she can eat everything and miraculously stays slim. Probably that’s what I find so likable about her!
She acknowledges that dieting is hard work and she does it because she has been through it. Most certainly she it has been even harder for her to control her weight as she has the pressure of being watched by the media constantly. Anyway, I think she is doing a great job concerning both acting and dieting and I am really glad that she has won the Oscar for best actress!
I hope that we will see her again soon on the red carpets of this world, looking her best as usual – no matter if with some pounds more or less!
