It is about hypnosis and the aspect of self hypnosis. Let's see what it is about.
Post from: Dieting Delilah

In my blog I have already presented various diets and methods for effective weight loss. Don’t get me wrong I am not someone who always counts calories and abstains from all delicious meals just to lose weight and to stay in shape - Far from it. I enjoy my life but I am interested in topics like healthy nutrition and also, declared, strange nutrition advices from our beloved celebrities. In this context I researched a lot about hypnosis and his effects on weight and body shape. Let us see what I have found out and if a therapist or a CD is advisable.

What is hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a deep relaxation which can operates at your subconscious.

Basically hypnosis is a condition of very deep relaxation, it is also referred as trance. You are not asleep, but your eyes are closed and you have full control over your body and you notice what happens around you. Often it is compared with changed attentiveness because you are concentrated on all inner happenings and you do not pay attention to your surroundings.

Methods

Someone who hypnotizes you, is called a hypnotist. He talks to you in a very calming tone and sometimes makes you concentrate on a certain object which will help you to ignore the surroundings. Counting is also used to focus all the concentration. You may have seen that sometimes when the hypnotist says “I count to three, then you are totally relaxed” and the person falls into a trance.

Self hypnosis is also a way to fall into relaxation but it has to be mentioned that self hypnosis causes only light or medium trances but no deep ones. This method is rather intended to relax after an exhausting day a few minutes and to reduce stress. Often you imagine being in another world and sending all problems and sorrows away which causes a very relaxed condition and helps you to deal with everyday life.

Focusing an object helps ignoring the surroundings.

Hypnosis helps losing weight

Hypnosis is not a conventional diet because it operates on our subconscious. During the trance we fix a new picture of our body in our mind, we also fix a new type of nutrition and new goals. The trance works at another level of our mind: Suddenly we eat less without being hungry, we eat healthier without having the munchies for sweets or burgers and we lose weight without suffering. Generally speaking we influence our sensation of satiety and this causes such wonderful results. Sounds a bit too good to be true or? But you are right: There is a catch. Because a hypnotist is very expensive and you will need more than one session; there is an elaborate preliminary talk and then the hypnosis sessions themselves.

Hypnosis for everyone

Hypnosis Audio CD guide you through the trance.

Concerning the aspect, that professional hypnotists are very expensive, you can try self hypnosis with the help of books and CDs. One of the most popular and successful hypnotists in the area of losing weight is Steven Gurgevich. He is a specialist in mind-body medicine and guides you through different stages of hypnosis and helps you losing weight by influencing the subconscious. Gurgevich published a lot of different books and audio CD’s on this topic and in my opinion it is worth a try and it looks much more serious to me than all these zero-calories and anti-delicious-meal diets. Damien Young is also a specialist in this area and he published some Audio CD’s.

In conclusion I want to mention that I am a bit skeptical if just hypnosis itself can cause weight losing but I really like the aspect of sustaining self-confidence and accepting your body. If any of you had tried out hypnosis to lose weight it would be great if you could talk about it.

Just enjoying being together with your family and spending one wonderful evening with nice food and great presents together.
Post from: Dieting Delilah

Countdown - six days until Christmas! Oh my god I am so exited, because this is, beside my birthday, the most wonderful day of the year. Meeting all relatives, eating nice food, having a relaxing evening and, do not forget, making gifts and opening the presents you have got. Just thinking about this initiates a feeling of happiness for me.

Buying presents is like Bungee Jumping or Skydiving

Tomorrow I will buy the last two presents for my Mum and for my Dad and than I have finished this present-mania. Although I am always late, this year I do not have to leave the house on 24th of December to buy the last things . You see: I am getting better.

This is pure adrenaline - I need this :)

I do love my family! Yes! I promise … or at least mostly …

In my family the big Christmas party takes place every year at the house or flat of a family member, we rotate in arranging this evening. This year it is my turn and I spent hours and days and weeks of thinking of what I should cook. There is not only the question of which meal because in my family there are all different kinds of food allergies and dislikes and the meal has to factor this aspects in. This year I decided not minding calories or fat contents because you should enjoy the evening and leaving the dieting thoughts for one day behind.

Let us list all absolutely forbidden and hated foods:

My sister: allergy to hazelnuts
Daddy: allergy to celery
Mother-in-law: hates all kind of raw fish (means: no sushi … damn!)
Daughter: hates curd cheese (no problem. I also hate this stuff)
Myself: steamed carrots and bowels (iiiiihhhhh!!)

With these instructions I started browsing through all my cookbooks and the Internet, asking friends and watching Jamie Oliver’s cooking show to find the perfect Christmas dinner. It was not easy but I think I have found something very nice which satisfies all hungry guests.

Delilah’s perfect Christmas dinner

The appetizer will be wild boar bacon with rocket and garlic dressing. I will form the wild boar bacon into rolls and put the rocket inside, garlic dressing over it and ready. This can also be offered as finger food. The main dish will be salmon filet (Mommy-in-law do not worry, nothing raw will be on your plate! I promise.) with leaf spinach, some self made noodles and white wine sauce. My personal highlight will be the dessert because I will offer a mousse au chocolat made of white chocolate with hot cherries and vanilla sauce. Yes, that i what I will prepare for my family at Christmas evening. Lots of work, but I am really looking forward to this day.

This is what a perfect Christmas dinner should look like.

I wish you all a merry Christmas and a happy New Year! Enjoy the feast days.

Yours, Delilah

Often we wonder at how fast celebrities lose weight and get back in their slim shape. Just thinking about Renée Zellweger for her role as Bridget Jones. We all know that celebrities have their personal trainer who support their clients with perfect adjusted nutrition and sports schedules. But beside this help many celebrities have their personal tricks to lose weight or to keep in good shape. Cameron Diaz, for example, only wears high heels at home to train her legs or Matthew McConaughey always carries his tooth brush with him to brush his teeth after every small or big meal; he says that gives him a feeling of freshness and of being full.

I found the ten craziest celebrity dieting tricks and want to present you these, granted, sometimes very weird, ideas and methods.

1. Jennifer Aniston: Sonoma

Jennifer Aniston uses small plates to reduce the amount of food.

Small plates, fresh products and enjoying life and eating: These are the three corner pillars of the Sonoma diet. It is named after a city in California and the inventor Connie Gutterson parts the food into allowed and forbidden food. Another important factor in this diet is the factor of plate size because sonoma says that you should use plates at the size of 18 centimeters in the morning and for lunch and dinner you should use plates at the size at 23 centimeters. These small plates prevent putting too much food onto the plate. Celebrities like Jennifer Aniston and Daryl Hannah rely on this method. Some people criticize that this diet only has one schedule for all people and that it does not adapt to the different needs of people. Seriously it is not very realistic for a man who is two meters tall and weighs 400 pounds to advise using a plate at the size of 18 centimeters but Jennifer seems to be happy with her doll plates.

2.Beyoncé: Master Cleanser

Everybody’s darling Beyoncé lost 22 pounds with the help of Master Cleanser. It is actually a drink, consisting of lemon juice, maple syrup and cayenne pepper. Sounds delicious … This drink detoxicates the body when you ingest up to twelve glasses of it, at least six glasses are essential. Subsidiary you should drink herb tea. Well, if it helps … Enjoy!

Beyoncé never leaves the house without Master Cleanser.

3. Cindy Crawford: Vinegar

She is 43 years old but is in shape like a 20-year-old supermodel. Now we have the secret behind this wonder: Cindy takes a sip of vinegar just before she eats something. Just thinking about drinking pure vinegar dislodges every feeling of hunger for me, so maybe this weird habit really works for Cindy. Her second trick is to have five meals, distributed over the whole day, because you should never be very hungry, otherwise the body saves everything you give him. That sounds sensibly, at least the thing with five meals.

You see: Vinegar works!

4. Oprah Winfrey: water-ice

The talkshow queen has had always problems with her weight and has tried out many different diets. Once she said that she feels ashamed of putting on and losing weight all the time. It is her biggest wish to lose weight and, overall, to stay slim. Her newest dieting trick: water-ice. When she feels the lust of something sweet, she eats some water-ice because this has less calories than ice cream.

Substitutional satisfaction for Oprah: Water-ice

5. Victoria Beckham: Sashimi and berries

No surprise that Mrs. Beckham has her place in this listing. After all she invented the jeans size “zero” which is the smallest existing size for adult women. Wearing size zero also shows that you have a model’s measurements and that your body is perfectly in shape. In my opinion too many woman strive for wearing these jeans. It is said that this size corresponds with children sizes. To wear her size zero, Victoria stays extremely thin, her legs look like two thin sticks. Her nutrition includes only fish, fruits and vegetables, she never eats up, she always leaves one third of every meal over. The weird combination of Sashimi and berries play the biggest role in her nutrition. You should follow all these measures for an unhealthy, hungry and a haggard body.

Victoria Beckham wearing size zero. Worth adopting?

6. Carmen Electra: Grapefruit oil

The secret of the beauties Carmen Electra and Jennifer Lopez is the smell of grapefruits. They always carry one small bottle of grapefruit oil with them and if the craving of sweets appears, they snuffle the oil. Studies prove the effect of curbing appetite.

7. Madonna: Macrobiotics

The queen of pop is uncompromising the japan macrobiotics diet. This diet defines eating as an interaction of Yin and Yang. This nutrition advises above all grain products, steamed vegetable, brown rice, soy products and sometimes small amounts of fish. Drinking is only allowed when you are very thirsty. That sounds monotonously and indeed: it is! This way of living is not only monotonously but also one of the most contentious diets because it is restricted to a very small range of food. Additionally Madonna keeps her body fit with yoga and pilates. Children are dissuaded from this diet, because it is too one-sided and actually this nutrition is not even advisable for adults.

Macrobiotic nutrition: If it helps ...

8. Renée Zellweger: Cabbage soup

Renée Zellweger alias Bridget Jones knows how to diet, after all she had to put on 30 pounds for this role. Of course she wanted to lose this weight again and therefore she relies on the cabbage soup diet. This diet is very radical because you only eat cabbage soup and some vegetable and drink at least two liters of water to neutralize the sourness of the soup. You should not realize this diet longer than one week because the body gets very little energy from this soup and the body works only on the back burner.

During the shooting programme for Bridget Jones and 6 month later.

9. Eva Mendes: Factor 5 diet

This is the new trend, inventor Harley Pasternak developed the Factor 5 diet. Celebrities like Alicia Keys, Halle Berry, Jessica Simpson and Eva Mendes follow the rules of this diet. It says that the diet should last five weeks, you should have five meals a day (Yes, Cindy Crawford, you are right!), each meal should consist of five ingredients, the workouts should last 25 minutes and you have five days of cheating. The advantage of the diet: It is easy to memorize the rules.

Eva Mendes keeps in shape with the Factor 5 diet.

10. Heidi Klum: New-York-diet

The most popular diet, developed by Henry Kirsch: The New York diet which forbids carbohydrates and fruits but allows a lot of proteins. Therefore Heidi ate up to twelve eggs (without yolk) and drank protein shakes. We have again the advice of having five meals a day and the combination of the three corner pillars nutrition, sports and discipline. The New York diet helped Heidi to get back her great body after her pregnancy and after eight weeks she had her appearance at the legendary Victoria’s Secret Show.

And Slime Fast is one of those, so I thought it to be a good idea to find out what's the truth behind this drink.
Post from: Dieting Delilah

Personally, I do not have any experience with Slim-Fast at all, except for the fact that I tasted one of these drinks once. And well, the taste was kind of strange for the first sip, but with the second one, I have to admit, that it was kind of delicious. Just like a good chocolate drink, actually. A friend of mine swears on these drinks and the other products like bars, snacks or packaged meals, but though I liked the taste of this one drink a while ago, I have to admit that I am not quite sure if I like the idea of eating and drinking these things 24/7.

The Slim-Fast plan involves six small meals/snacks every day. You are advised to use Slim-Fast products for two meals and one snack daily. The rest of the day, you’re on your own — to choose healthy meals when eating out or cooking at home. According to Slim-Fast: No calorie counting is necessary, no foods are forbidden; you can still eat your favorites. However, lean protein, fruits, and vegetables are emphasized.

Pros

The weight-loss goals are in line with government safe weight-loss guidelines. The exercise aspect of the program is workable, just 30 minutes a day of moderate activity.

Cons

The key-element of this diet is, of course based on using the Slim-Fast products, so if you do not necessarily like the taste of every single one, you will not stick to the diet.

Background

S. Daniel Abrahams started and developed the Slim-Fast dieting program in 1977, when he was a part of the Thompson Medical Group, but ten years later in 1987 he took the brand private and began distributing the program and the included products worldwide on his own. The Slim-Fast principle is actually not a new one - By controlling portions, you control calories. By controlling fat and starches, you control calories. By burning more calories than you eat, you lose weight, but a lot of people lost weight over the years and live a lot easier with the help of these products.

300 Appetizing Recipes to Keep Your Weight Down And Your Energy Up!

Before I started to read I scrolled through it first and I have to say on the first sight it looked like a lot of delicious recipes were contained in this cookbook. So I thought this might be good opportunity to start a new diet without stopping to eat things I like and those that just taste to good to stop eating them. From the beginning I also really liked the categorization into four different chapters: family dinners, salads and soups, vegetarian dishes and healthy snacks. So this is a good variety of different foods and recipes.

Nancy T. Maar, the author of ‘the Everything Glycemic Index Cookbook - 300 Appetizing Recipes to Keep Your Weight Down And Your Energy Up!’, put together 300 of her best recipes based on the Glycemic Index. It contains a variety of recipes for family dinners, salads and soups, vegetarian dishes and healthy snacks. This book is a good guide for those who have to watch their blood sugar level.

Pros

easily manageable recipes for everyone; a great variety of foods; interesting and very easy to read, which makes cooking a lot easier;

Cons

a lot of the recipes contain ingredients, that are not readily available which makes cooking some of this dishes a lot more complicated; another problem is that there are no photos at all in this book, so you do not quite know how the dish should look in the end.

To summarize

In the beginning I thought this diet book to be fantastic, well it is in its own way, but not as much as I expected it to be. Though the recipes sound very good and interesting I do not like the fact that this book does not contain a single photography except for the cover. If you are not alienated from cooking things without knowing how they look in the end, then this one is definitely something for you.

Background

Once in the glittery and glamorous celebrity world the Glycemic index diet was THE way to get thin, loose weight or stay thin. Even today a lot of celebrities like Cameron Diaz or Lucy Liu swear on this diet.

But what exactly is the Glycemic Index?

The Glycemic Index (GI) is a ranking system for carbohydrates based on their immediate effect on blood glucose levels. According to this Index all things can be eaten as long as they have a low value in the GI. Carbohydrates with a high Glycemic Index are absorbed quickly by the body and cause the blood glucose levels to rise rapidly. The body then releases large amounts of insulin in order to decrease the high blood glucose level. The excessive amounts of insulin lower the blood glucose level to such an extent that it can cause a mild form of hypoglycaemia. The reaction that your body gives you as a result of this hypoglycaemia is a feeling of hunger. Furthermore the higher levels of insulin complicate the degradation of fat.

The Glycemic Index diet does not only consist of carbonhydrates, but also fat and protein must be consumed. If you take for example dark chocolate, which has a low Glycemic Index, what means that the carbonhydrates will be absorbed slowly by the body, which fills you up for a longer period of time. In order to compare foods, it is necessary to compare portions of food with a comparable level of carbohydrates. The GI does not refer to the amount of food but to the amount of carbohydrates.

You try to persuade as much friends as necessary and possible to get together and get thin, well that is at least what me and two of my friends did.
Post from: Dieting Delilah

You know, in life there often come times when you have to make decisions, whether they are good ones or bad ones always is in the eye of the beholder, just like beauty. But to decide when it is about time to go on a diet, well that is easy to find out. My two best friends and I picked out the best ones that made us realize that we should get up and work out to get rid of some of our weight. I happen to think that it might be interesting for you to read those signs that opened up our eyes and maybe your eyes get opened up going through this piece too.

1. Are this my thighs or do I have a boat between my pins?

A good friend of mine, let us call her DietingSally, told me this story of getting her close to realize that she might be a little overweight. Hand over my heart, she is. Just like every morning she came out of her shower, wrapped a big towel around her body and went straight to her closet to pick out clothes for her day. She picked her favorite pair of trousers, black, of course, because black makes you look skinny, at least this is what the fashion industry still tries to tell you, and a white blouse. When she put everything on she went to the mirror to blow-dry her hair, when she abruptly came to a stop, went several steps back and then several forth. She repeated this a few times, and then went to the mirror more rapidly than before. It was exactly what she not expected it to be. Her thighs were as close together as never before. They even touched and rubbed one another. DietingSally thought: ‘it must be the mirror.’ I as a friend say, ‘it must be your daily onion bagel.’.

blame it on the daily onion Bagel

2. Half the Price but not Half the Size

Same time, another friend called DietingErica preparing for her daily routine too. Standing in front of the closet and not knowing what to do, she picks a dress she bought about three years ago. A beautiful piece of silk that she bought at a reduced prize in a designer store. Marvelous, indeed, but as she put it on and tried to close the zipper she dropped from cloud number nine and hit the streets of reality hard as she wasn’t able to close them. Could it be that she outgrew it? Definitely! Did she admit it? Not honestly! She tells us, ‘it must have shrinked the last time I washed it’, and we answer, ‘you did not wear that dress since you bought it! Did you ever wash it?’. Of course she washed it, once, right after she bought it.

Don't you fit in anymore?

3. No, I’m not Pregnant, I just Happen to have Heavy Bones

Men really have to make a mental note of not asking women questions like ‘are you having a baby?’ or ‘did you gain wait?’ or ‘you…well, changed since the last time I saw you’. That is definitely and totally inadequate. Once, I was out shopping and I met a colleague from school-times and we talked a little bit, I call him NotDietingSteve, and he was actually very nice and even made me laugh several times. But men can be a bit inspirated by leaps and bounds as it seems, because one minute they are completely nice and in another minute we have to let them off the hook. Meaning? His answer to my question, ’so are you married or do you have children?’ he said, ‘well I am married but we’re planning to adopt a child, but as I see you are going to bear one soon’, and smiled politely. If I would not own such a huge composure I would have taken my bag and bumped it to his head, but I just happened so say, ‘No, I’m not pregnant, I just happen to have heavy bones’, turned around and went to the cash.

White means Heavy Bones and no Pregnancy

4. Hey! Did someone halve the mirror?!

Truth be told, the mirror is something like a best friend for some women, actually for those who are self-confident, narcissistic and in love with themselves, but some of us do have the problem that one mirror does not seem to be enough and I do not mean because of their checkless will to always check themselves in a mirror. DietingSally sat at the Computer in her office and wrote on an article when she decided she needed to go out smoking a cigarette. It eased her thought on her thighs at least a little bit. After smoking she went to the bathroom to ‘check her makeup’ and what she saw made her actually speechless, and between us, she hardly ever is. She filled up the whole mirror almost completely but all she saw was the imaginated cut in the mirror and all you could hear was her screaming, ‘Hey! Did someone halve the mirror?!?!’. That was actually all she needed for one day to come up with the decision to go on a diet. Good luck DietingSally.

mirror mirror on the wall

5. Swear to God I did weight 15 pounds less yesterday

After her shocking dress experience DietingErica had to eat a big breakfast in order to forget abouther beefed up body. Guess, it is not the right way, she told us afterwards, as we sat there on my table talking and discussion about dieting methods that might help us to lose at least 90 pounds, together, of course. She looked at us and told us how awful her good morning bagel tasted when she thought about the dress. She threw it away went to the bathroom and put herself on the scale, in a literary sense, acutally she stood on the scale and thought it will never stop moving when it finally hit a new state of incredibility, well hers of course, not ours, we know how she looks. ‘I swear to God I did weight 15 pounds less yesterday’, she told us when we looked at her with pityful faces. ‘Swear to God!’, she accentuated a second time and took another low fat, almost fat free double chocolate cake. Guess where those 15 pounds come from? A little hint: it is not the dress my dear DietingErica.

Swear to God I did weight less yesterday

6. Shocking news! The double chocolate low fat cake has about 500 Kcal per crumb!!!!!!

After the meeting in the Mall with NotDietingSteve I sat in my kitchen and thought about upcoming dinner while I ate a tiny slice of my beloved cake when I came to the idea that maybe he asked me because I am overweight, at least just a little bit, and when that thought came to my mind I noticed that the double chocolate low fat cake I love so much has a calorie chart on its packaging. I took it and read the unbelievable truth. I almost choked on my cake. Shocking news! I will never ever eat a low fat cake again. Sad but it has to be, if I do not want to be asked if I am going to bare triplets, the next time I see an old classmate.

Shocking News!

7. Excuse me! Do I know you?

There comes a point in life when sometimes you just want to be somewhere else with a new identity and a new life. Not often, but sometimes such thoughts appear above all when your children come to you and ask if they could use your shirt to build up a tent. Hello!? Excuse me?! At this point I had to ask my children one thing, ‘Do I know you?’. That was pure barefacedness. Don’t get me wrong, I love my children but hello? A little overweight does not make me to a tent-wearing Woman. At that point I was a bout to start a new diet.

Right now, while I wrote the article, I was about to diet on a new concept that I am going to tell you the next time a bit more. All I can say for now, the three of us diet and we all try another one. We’ll see how it works.

Well I heard of a new dieting method and I immediately started to go on a research and to try out something new.
Post from: Dieting Delilah

Aren’t you just sick of hearing about the newest fad diets all the time?

Try the cookie-diet now!

If you, like me, keep wondering when people will understand that the only way to sustainable, long-term, and healthy weight loss is eating right and exercising, this will probably be as amusing to you as it was to me.

From an early age on I was told that what looks too good to be true generally IS too good to be true! So I was pretty sceptical when I first heard of the Cookie diet. Cookies and weight loss – that doesn’t fit together, does it?

Get this. Dr. Siegal developed a diet where you eat six cookies a day and top them off with a meal that’s low in calories but high in protein at night. Doesn’t that kind of make you wonder where he got his doctorate from?

The Cookies You're Meant To Eat

Celebrities like Kelly Clarkson and Jennifer Hudson have allegedly tried the diet and lost weight, but it is highly unlikely that the cookies had anything to do with that. Much rather, they were probably such a small size that the diet simply causes for a calorie deficit to be created, which as we all know, makes you lose weight. Dr. Siegal says it is a combination of special amino acids in the cookies that make you lose the weight, because the cookies are supposed to suppress hunger.

What the cookie diet essentially is, is a very low calorie and low carbohydrate diet. You are not supposed to eat more than 800 calories per day. Therefore your daily meal plan will consist of lots of water, 6 diet cookies and a dinner that consists of lean chicken, turkey or fish and vegetables.

Probably those special kinds of cookies are healthy containing fibre, protein, armino acids, vitamins and other stuff that is good for your body, but that doesn’t make them the perfect way to lose weight. Dieticians argue that consuming only 800 calories per day is not enough to maintain healthy and energy. They also say that the diet seriously lacks fruit and vegetables that are only allowed to be eaten for dinner at a very restricted quantity.

Apparently, the cookies aren’t even that good, because Dr. Siegal doesn’t want people eating too much of them. When on the diet, you get a box of cookies delivered which costs about 60 dollars and is supposed to see you through all week. What you choose to eat for the high-protein low calorie meal in the evenings is up to you.

I was surprised to find out that there are actually different types of cookie diets. The first one was by Dr. Siegal, but soon other diets followed as obviously cash diets are big business today. Other cookie diets available that are also well known are the Smart for Life Cookie diet and the Hollywood Cookie diet.

I haven’t tried any of them, but I don’t think I will, because I know I need variety and I would probably not stick to the diet. I would get so sick of the cookies after a couple of days, which would be a waste of money. Honestly, this one sounds a lot like the usual 7 day diets or the master cleanse to me – you lose the weight quickly, but the minute you think you’ve gotten rid of it, it comes back to laugh in your face faster than you can say “size eight”.

The weight loss craze is nothing new in Hollywood. We all know that size 0 doesn’t equal good looks, but rather an eating disorder. It is a shame that despite everyone knowing that the weight of most Hollywood actresses and other celebrities is far from healthy and more and more young and famous women are taking on this lifestyle. This post is to show what the dieting craze has done to them:

1. Amy Winehouse

Amy Winehouse is skinny due to drugs and alcohol

First comes the sad, sad story of a very gifted young musician: Amy Winehouse. We all know that she could have become one of the world’s most famous singers, but when drugs and alcohol crossed her way at celebrity partys she basically started destroying herself. Every now and then you see her emaciated body in the news, but the stories always focus on her behaviour rather than her music. I guess if she goes on like that she won’t survive much longer!

2. Whitney Houston

Whitney Houston looks anorexic on stage

She’s definitely one of my all time favourite singers and her voice is unique, but just like many other celebrities Whitney Houston is suffering from some serious eating disorders. Otherwise she wouldn’t have ended up with the body she has in the above picture. This is what stress, alcohol, drugs and an abusive husband can make out of a beautiful, beautiful woman. It’s a shame! I really hope that she’ll be able to start her career again so that the world can enjoy her amazing voice and probably also see her in a better condition on stage again.

3. Nicole Richie

Nicole Richie is only skin and bones

Nicole Richie, daughter of famous singer Lionel Richie, is fortunately already doing better now. In 2006 after doing two seasons of “The simple life” with her BFF Paris Hilton she was really scary thin. In the reality TV show she obviously was the heavier one of the two which led to her thinking that she needed to lose weight. At 90lbs you saw all of her bones sticking out and luckily she also realized that she was too thin and put on weight with the help of a nutritionist. Let’s hope that we never see her like that again.

4. Courtney Love

New pictures show Courtney love looking anorexic and scary skin

Curt Cobain’s former wife is known as an enfant terrible. If she is around you never know what happens. Courtney’s weight has been almost as unstable as her mood. In 2007 she lost 55 pounds within just a couple of months and looked awfully skinny afterwards as you can see in the picture. Recent newspaper reports feature pictures of her that show Courtney looking really annorexic. I guess now she can’t deny that she has weight issues anymore. Her body looks dangerously thin! I hope that the latest news reports wake her up, so that she understands that her weight isn’t healthy anymore!

5. Keira Knightley

Keira Knightley is scary skin

Keira Knightley hasn’t got any eating disorder - her skinny frame is just due to good genes - yes, sure!! How often have we heard that story? I look at her ribs and hip bones sticking out and can’t help to think that this young, talented actress has a problem. In the before and after picture you can see how much better Keira would look with just a few pounds more. Another actress who’s fallen vitctim to Hollywood’s skinny craze. What a shame!

6. Allegra Versace

Allegra Versace is extremely thin

As the daughter of a world-famous fashion designer you’d expect you’d have no problems, but Allegra Versace has a big one: her weight. Over the years there were lots of speculations that Allegra was suffering from an eating disorder and it was finally confirmed that the niece of Gianni Versace was anorexic in 2007. She is now undergoing treatment and we should hope that we won’t see pictures of her so horribly skinny again in the future.

7. Tori Spelling

Tori Spelling is very thin

Tori Spelling the famous 90210 actress shocked the world with her extremely thin frame. At under 90 pounds petite Tori doesn’t look healthy any more. She lost weight really fast after giving birth to her second child. Like so many mothers in Hollywood the first thing she focused her energy on was her weight, not her newborn. A trend that is definitely scary! In the side by side pictures she looks already skinny on the left, but the right picture makes you wonder if the anorexia rumors are true!

8. Victoria Beckham

Victoria Beckham looks much too thin

Victoria Beckham, former Spice Girl and wife of British David Beckham, has just recently been named celebrity with the worst body - and I completely agree. When Victoria was still Posh Spice she had a nice and normal physique, but after becoming wife of David she focused all her energy on becoming a role model concerning fashion and also followed the “skinny celebrity” trend when she and her hubby moved to America. Because of her weight at around 68lbs it was often speculated that she has an eating disorder but she always denies it - we don’t believe you Victoria!

9. Lindsay Lohan

Lindsay Lohan is scary thin

Lindsay has appeared in movies and films from a very early age on. Like most child actors she is trying to continue to stay popular as a celebrity, but it seems that the scandals around her drinking problems, relationships and her weight are giving her more headlines than her movies. She says that the weight loss is just due to stress and unintentional - but who believes that? The 22 year old actress looks like skin and bones - gain some weight girl!

10. Calista Flockhart

Calista Flockhart is too skinny by far

The fiance of Harrison Ford is a successful actress and at 45 years of age already a mature celebrity. Unfortunately like many of her young colleagues Calista has also fallen into the skinny celebrities trap. To the allegations that her weight isn’t healthy anymore Flockhart answers that she has a healthy lifestyle and eats three balanced meals a day. However, it seems that she would be better if she included some more calories in her diet plan judging on her skinny frame. She is simply “small boned” Calista Flockhart says - funny that so many Hollywood actresses are, isn’t it?

11. Kate Bosworth

Victoria Beckham looks much too thin

The aspiring actress has also suffered from server weight issues in the past. Looking back she says it was a dark time in her life and that she found it scary to lose so much weight. At least she noticed that her stick-thin figure wasn’t healthy anymore unlike many other Hollywood starlets and set out a plan again. Luckily she succeeded and looks much more healthy today.

12. Teri Hatcher

Teri Hatcher lost lots of weight

Teri Hatcher was flying high alongside superman in the 1990s TV series Lois and Clark and everyone thought that this had been the peak of her career. She gloriously returned as Susan Mayer in the TV Series desperate housewives. Teri has proven that she is still the awesome actress she used to be, but I guess somehow she felt the need to prove to herself that she can be just as thin as Hollywood’s younger actresses. Diets and lots of sport gave her a ultra trim and skinny physique. But do these legs look lovely? I don’t think so.
Post from: Dieting Delilah

No, I am not talking about life or a roller coaster in a fun park. I am talking about Kirsty Alley's weight, and her actual problem with it, which she increased and did not get rid of since ages.
Post from: Dieting Delilah

Back at the beginning of the 1990s I love the “Look who’s talking” movies with Kirstie Alley. I think she is a fantastic comedian. She probably doesn’t fit Hollywood’s beauty stereotype, but that was never a problem for me. There is just something about her that makes you instantly like her.

It seems, however, unlike me and many of her friends Kirstie had a problem with her looks and especially her weight. The weight roller coaster that she went on already started back in the 90s. Then the weight ups and downs were only small, but in recent years they have become much more dramatic. She became spokeswoman for Jenny Craig and lost amazing 75 pounds with this program. Proudly she showed off her trim body at all talk shows in this countries. Kirstie also said that she wanted to start her own weight loss programs, but looking at the photos of her that emerged lately it seems quite unlikely that the “Alley Method” is working.

In fact at 228 lbs she now weighs more than ever before. That makes me question if the Jenny Craig method is really as good as it claims, as such a yoyo effect are usually the result of unhealthy crash diets.

After she had parted from Jenny Craig and was free of all responsibilities it seems she let herself go. Kirstie went back to her old habits eating lots of Chinese food, lots of butter, bread and enchiladas. Basically all the fatty and unhealthy food that was forbidden during her time with Jenny Craig.

Alley pursued a vegetarian diet but seems to have substituted meat with other fatty or sweet food items. Many people have the misconception that being a vegetarian automatically means having a healthy diet and losing weight, but I guess Kristie Alley is the best example that this is not true.

Now she is desperate and promises that she will lose weight again. I think that’s the wrong way. She has already proven that she can lose lots of weight when she wants to, but what she needs is stable and balanced weight loss plus she needs to start loving her body.

The more I read up on her I get the feeling she has never been happy and confident with her body. That’s the way to start.

In an interview it Kirstie was reported as saying: “I’m resigned that I’ll never be like Cindy Crawford or Claudia Schiffer. I’m a full-figured woman - and dammit, I’m happy that way! To hell with what the rest of the world thinks.”, but it seems that deep inside she doesn’t really believe in that. Kirstie Alley has struggled with her weight all her life and I really hope that she will now win the battle and get to a medium weight level that she can keep and at which she feels comfortable.

Another fact is, that the following charts of 10 most disgusting and fatty fast/junk food items is the top of all lists of food to avoid if you want to keep your weight to a minimal.
Post from: Dieting Delilah

Believe me after reading this post and especially after looking at those pictures all you want will be a big bowl of salad or other vegetables. The reason for that is that I’ve decided to identify the top 10 most fatty fast food items by you to serve as motivation and deterrence at the same time.

1. The Corn Dog

The corn dog – an all American invention – is a hot dog coated in cornbread batter and deep fried in hot oil. The story goes that it was invented at the Texas State fair by a smart business man who wanted to sell his hot dogs quicker and got the idea to deep fry them and sell them on a stick. A typical American tradition – we tend to deep fry everything, don’t we? There are many different corn role recipes available all having one thing in common: they are yummy and greasy and contain 250 calories per serving or more!

2. Burgers

Another fast food item many people love to eat is a burger. There are so many fast food restaurants all over the place offering burgers that you simply can’t get around them and they always look so yummy on the pretty advertising displays. But the pictures below show you the reality. Burgers are not a healthy meal and you will find many containing up to 4520Kj which is half of the recommended calorie intake for women. Most of them contain by far too much fat and salt. Interestingly, not an American, but an Australian is selling the world’s most unhealthy burger.

3. Pizza

Pizza is Italian so it can’t be unhealthy right? Well, we Americans also add our usual unhealthy touch to pizza, a popular fast food dished served everywhere in the world. But only we Americans love to deep fry our pizza to add that special kind of flavor and fat. Most pizzas are loaded with carbs, greasy meats and high fat cheese which make them a real calorie bomb with often more than 300 calories per slice.

4. Philadelphia Cheese Sandwich

As the name says the iconic cheese sandwich was invented in Philadelphia using only the most unhealthy ingredients: fatty, stringy meat and high fat cheese. It is another calorie buster with 720 calories per 100g serving. And if that wasn’t enough some people even like to deep fry their cheese steaks. I guess you gain weight just by looking at one of these sandwiches!

5. Tacos

Tacos are one of the Americans’ favorite tex-mex foods. You would expect that they are quite healthy as they contain quite a variety of ingredients also including veggies and salad. Think again! Big tacos can easily contain up to 570 calories. Most tacos share the common problems of burgers: they are made with too fatty meat, too much salt, too fatty toppings and too much cheese giving you a hard time shedding the weight you gain when eating them.

6. Breakfast Sandwich

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. I guess some people take this way to serious and it seems they are trying to combine all their meals for one day in a single dish. Just look at this breakfast sandwich containing eggs, sausage, ham, cheese, bacon, blueberries and maple syrup. It may easily contains about 500 calories. Not sure if I would be able to swallow that!

7. Waffles

You are rather after something sweet for breakfast. No problem! What about some yummy waffles with extra cream and extra chocolate sauce. Add some brownie and multicolored sprinkle and you have got the worst start into the day possible providing you with an amount of calories (about 70 per serving) impossible to work off during that day.

8. Fries and Cheese

They are called French fries and that alone lets us know that they’re bad. Still fries enjoy high popularity and are the standard side dish for every junk food meal. Small sized fries already contain almost 300 calories. Add some high fat cheese and voila – you’ve got the unhealthiest side dish you can think of!

9. Krispy Kreme

Krispy Kreme doughnuts are extremely popular and extremely high in calories (up to 450). Of course a doughnut alone is not exciting enough. That’s why people like to add bacon and cheddar or sloppy joe fillings. Yuck! I could never eat that – not a fan of the sweet and savory mixture.

10. Cheesecake

You still want some desert? There are many low calorie cheese cake recipes out there, but the traditional recipe for cheesecake will produce a cake loaded with calories. Just one piece of cheesecake will easily contain about 300cal. There are also delicious varieties of the cake – deep fry it, cover it in chocolate or add any other high calorie toppings. You will probably love it but your body won’t.

I have to admit that after compiling this post with all these disgusting pictures I feel slightly sick. No way I will eat anything for the next hours. Hope that you feel the same and will abstain from unhealthy fatty foods today and in the future!
