I don’t know if you have heard that story before,…it is going through the news currently.
Patty Hill went from 285 pounds to 150. An amazing story! You can look at pictures and videos on the CNN homepage - she looks incredible! If you see how she looked with 285 pounds you even think that is another person.
She lost the weight with a surgery called Lap-Banding. Additionally she watched her nutrition closely and worked out a lot. This finally led to this immense success.
What I find so heart-warming about this story is that Patty actually lost so much weight because of a very good friend of hers. Her friend had died after getting a gastric bypass. Patty was very afraid that the same thing was happen to her but she promised herself and her beloved friend in that moment that she would make their dream come true - to become thin.
Also she has a 23 year old daughter, according to the newspaper articles I read, and I think it is always important to have someone that you are actually losing the weight for.
I am also trying to lose weight first and foremost for myself, but then also for my daughter, because I don’t want her to be without her mother too soon.
I don’t know what to think about surgeries. Personally, I am simply to afraid to have something like that done on me, but if you see results like that you immediately want to go and consult the next doctor!
What do you think of undergoing surgeries to lose weight?
