Everyone knows the one and only diet soup and everyone knows what it is made of: cabbage and lots of other healthy vegetables such as onions, tomatoes, green pepper, carrots and beans. This is the original cabbage soup recipe!

What only people know, who have already tried this 7 day diet plan, is that after the first four days you will begin to find the taste of the soup boring or even a little bit disgusting. Nowadays we are not used to eating the same food for seven days in a row, so we have to do something that will let us enjoy the soup for seven whole days and thereby lose weight.
One idea is to change the consistency of the soup. By simply pureeing the soup it will get a slightly different taste and you will find it easier to eat.
Another hint is to eat the soup both hot and cold as the soup will also taste slightly different at different temperatures.
If you still find it hard to swallow the cabbage diet soup after a couple of days what you should try are different cabbage soup recipes. As many people have already tried the cabbage soup diet you will also find many different recipes and cabbage soup variations online.
Here are my favorite ones:
The Munich cabbage soup
The German’s know about good food. Give your cabbage soup that special German taste by adding some apple cider vinegar and some typical German spices such as caraway and thyme. Guten Appetit!
The Florence cabbage soup
The Italians have their own diet soup – the Minestrone – but they have also some hints for spicing up your cabbage soup. Just add some fresh garlic, Italian parsley, oregano and basil. Buon appetito!
The Bombay cabbage soup
How I love the Indian cuisine! Get some turmeric, cumin and saffron to give your cabbage soup a special color and flavor.
The Western cabbage soup
Add some cilantro, chili powder and cumin for that extra western flavor. Yiha!
The Asian cabbage soup
Cooking the Asian way is a big trend nowadays. Turn your cabbage soup into an Asian soup by adding fish soup, soy sauce and bean sprouts.
Delilah’s special cabbage soup
This is my personal cabbage soup version – tried and tested! Add some new vegetables to your soup – I personally love to add broccoli, zucchini, mushrooms, some Balsamic vinegar and a little bit of Tabasco. Voila!
As you can see you can approach your seven day cabbage soup diet with lots of fantasy! If you decide to do the cabbage soup program again after some months you can simply cook another cabbage soup recipe than the last time and thereby you’ll never get bored with the soup.

Looks delicious! I just love green leafy vegetable.. and its nice to add this vegetable to soup.
Which tastes better, balsamic or apple cider vinigar? It doesn’t really matter, since I love both of them. Does one work better than the other?
