3 day tuna diet

This is good because fish and seafood is actually pretty healthy and low in fat and calories which makes it the perfect food when it comes to dieting.

When surfing the internet yesterday I came across another diet that I hadn’t heard before: the 3 day tuna diet. Tuna is one of my favourite fish and so this blog post about the tuna diet immediately caught my eye. This is what I have learned:

The 3 day tuna diet is a short diet that is said to be an easy and quick way to shed some pounds within just 3 days. No one seems to remember where the diet originated from, but some said that a special clinic or doctor proposed it. Some say that this clinic is the Cleveland Clinic, however, the clinic denies having to do with this diet stating that this diet is just another fad diet.
On other websites I then found more information of what this special diet actually consists of. Surprise, surprise – its a three day diet plan and another one – you are not supposed to eat ONLY tuna.

Here is what you can eat and drink every day:
For breakfast: black coffee, tea or water; half a grapefruit; one slice of toast with some peanut butter
For lunch: a toast with half a cup of tuna and again black coffee, tea or water
For dinner: one cup of green beans, one cup of carrots, one cup of vanilla ice cream, one medium apple, and the same drinks as before.
The next two days look quite similar and honestly I am wondering where the tuna is in this TUNA diet. With just half a cup of tuna a day this diet hardly qualifies to be called Tuna diet. After reading that I got really suspicious and did some more research.

Later on I found that the diet is supposed to be some kind of urban legend. On the internet I found out about some ladies who claimed to have dieted successfully with this diet.

If any of you out there reading this post has managed to lose some weight with the 3 day tuna diet please let us know if it is worth a try! (but I doubt that anyone will respond) :-) .

    I hate beets. I’ve tried all kinds. So I stuck on this diet and ate beets and I can’t remember if I even lost 3 lbs. but I don’t think I did. So for me to have to eat beets for a very minimal (if any) loss wasn’t worth it to me. However, I think I tried this a second time at some point in my life just to see if it would work. Again, I didn’t see much of a loss. I will admit I only did it for 3 days each attempt.

    I tried the true 3 day tuna diet, and it worked great! I lost 8 1/2 lbs, and kept off 5. I am 5′ 4″ and began at 139. I ate 6 cans of tuna per day and drank water. Unfortunately, I could not stick to it the way you are supposed to, by eating only tuna, with nothing on it, not even salt. The first day was ok, but after that, I had to mix things in it just to get it down. I mixed in hot sauce or melted cheese or anything that would help, and I didn’t make it through the entire third day before I quit. I just don’t like tuna. But the results were worth it. 8 1/2 lbs lost and it took me two weeks to gain back 3 1/2 of those lbs. The other 5 lbs stayed off.

    Hey y’all ! I did the Tuna diet and lost 3 pounds during and in the next 3 days of normal eating another 3 pounds. It’s definitely worth it. Las year after doing it a few times I had lost quite a bit of weight and was noticeably slimmer so I don’t think it’s just water or muscle weight.

    My brother in law has started this 3 day tuna diet, he has lost 10 pounds the first week so far. I am starting it today .

    This diet actually started in the 60′s and 70′s with bodybuilders of that area. In order for them to lean out effectivly they used this diet to do so. Dave Drapper “The Blonde Bomber” is how I found out about this diet. I’m trying it as I type and I’m through the first day with no problems. I’m eating six cans a day and I do mix it with (each can I use different spices) Olive Oil, Paprika, Garlic, Salsa, Tobasco sauces. I drink about a gallon of water all day with this as well.

    im 5’2 170 pounds. im on my 2nd day and ive already lost 6 pounds.

    breakfast – 2 cups of water
    i start the tuna immediately with cayenne pepper
    1/2 cup of tuna

    lunch – 2 cups of water
    1/2 cup of tuna
    110 low fat yogurt

    dinner – 2 cups of water
    1/2 cup of tuna
    steamed mix veggies – straight out of the bag

    for exercise i play volleyball and i been walking an hour a day

    i love this diet, i dont feel hungry im guessing because of all the water i drink. i love tuna so that helps.

    i recommend this diet to anyone/everyone for quick weight loss!

    I did this 3 days- twice. One month before my wedding & my dress had to be majorly altered. I lost 15 pounds but way more inches. That’s only 6 days. I was searching for this recipe to do it again. (13 year anniversary )

    You seriously can not not be loosing weight. Some of the diets you guys are saying you are on are less than 1000 calories a day. You could eat literally anything you want as long as you didn’t eat more than 1000 calories a day and you’d lose weight. While tuna and other high protein low fat foods can help you lose weight, it’s not the food its the caloric intake.

    Did this diet, was called the Ice- cream diet or the Miami Heart Diet. Lost 2.3 kg while on it, tried it the next week, but broke before the third day supper and the next time I tried it did not even start the third day. Dry tuna with only salt and pepper rather

    I have just started the tuna diet, im going to see how i go for three days and maybe carry it on until the end of the week.

    Day one – I got tuna water on my sleeve… nice! Then mixed it up with sweetcorn (not my fav combination!

    The post above about eating less than a 1000 calories is true though!
